01What is Spickor, and how is it different from reading the full book?

Spickor distills key insights from bestselling non-fiction (and fiction) books into 10–15 minute summaries — both text and audio formats included. It's designed for people who want to learn faster: get the core ideas, decide if the full book is worth your time, or just walk away with the key takeaways.

02Is Spickor free? How does it work?

Spickor offers two ways to access book summaries: • Free: Unlock any book by watching a short ad. No credit card, no trial period, no daily limit. • Premium: Subscribe for an ad-free experience, plus offline downloads and exclusive features. We believe great ideas should be accessible to everyone, so every book is available for free — no paywall, no "1 book per day" restriction like other apps.

03How long are the ads? Can I skip them?

Ads are typically 15–30 seconds. You'll need to watch the full ad to unlock a book — this is how we keep the service free for everyone.

04Do I need to create an account to use Spickor?

Yes, you need to sign in to use Spickor. You can sign in with Apple ID, Google, or email. This allows us to sync your reading progress, bookmarks, and highlights across devices.

05How many books are available? How often do you add new ones?

We currently have 2200+ book summaries across 8 categories. New titles are added on an irregular basis — we prioritize bestsellers, award-winners, and user-requested books.

06How do you decide which books to include?

We prioritize books that are widely recommended, critically acclaimed, or frequently requested by our users. We also curate by category to ensure a balanced mix of timeless classics and new releases.

07Can I request a book to be added?

Absolutely! Go to the "Request a Book" page (or tap the request button in the app) and submit the title and author. We prioritize requests based on popularity — the more people request a book, the faster we add it.

08Can I download books for offline reading/listening?

Offline downloads are available exclusively for Premium subscribers. Once downloaded, you can read or listen without an internet connection — perfect for flights, commutes, or anywhere without signal.

09What platforms does Spickor support?

Spickor is currently available on iOS. Android and Web versions are in active development — sign up for our newsletter to be notified at launch.

10Can I adjust the audio playback speed?

Yes! You can adjust playback speed from 0.5x to 2.0x, and skip forward/backward by 15 seconds.

11Will my reading progress sync across devices?

Yes — as long as you're signed in with the same account, your reading progress, bookmarks, and highlights will sync automatically across all your devices.

Account & Data

12What happens to my reading history if I delete the app?

Your reading history is tied to your account, not the app. As long as you sign in with the same account, your data will be there when you reinstall — no data loss.

13Can I delete my account? What happens to my data?

Yes, you can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete Account. We will permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where required by law. You can also request a copy of your data before deletion.
